Miracle Peel serum is a part of the “Treat” step and is applied right after you have cleansed your face! You can use this serum in your AM & PM skincare routine
Can I use this serum in the morning?
Yes, you can use it in morning, however if used in the AM, make sure you use a broad spectrum SPF.
How often can I use this serum?
You can use Miracle Peel serum daily in the PM, however if you have dry or sensitive skin we recommend to use it 1-3 times per week, in the PM.
Can I layer the exfoliator with any other ingredients?
We do not recommend layering this serum with other products with exfoliating acids, vitamin C and retinols as this may lead to irritation. We suggest using these on alternative evenings and ensuring you start of slowly to ensure you don't irritate the skin.
You can read more about mixing the ingredients in our ACTIVE INGREDIENTS BLOG!
Can I mix this serum with other EGGO smartskincare products?
You can use this serum with our Zen Defence moisturizer and Aquaholic serum! We do not recomend using it with Glow and go serum, unless you use them on alternate times in the routine (Glow and go in the morning and Miracle Peel in the evening).
Is this exfoliator suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, after patch testing we’d suggest introducing this a few times a week and gradually increasing use.
I have dry, blemish-prone skin, can I still use this serum?
Yes, you can also use this serum if you have dry skin! If your skin is rather dry, you can mix it with our Aquaholic to retain moisture on your skin or prevent from drying it out.
I have blackheads, can I use this serum?
Of course! If you have blackheads then this serum is your best friend as it will work deep into your pores, cleanse and minimize them! :)
What's the difference between AHA and BHA?
AHAs (known as Alpha Hydroxy Acids) are relatively gentle chemical exfoliants that exfoliate the skin’ surface by gently dissolving the bonds between the surface skin cells - not as scary as it sounds, but to put it simply - AHAs remove dead skin cells and help new skin cells to form. AHA acids are often found in anti-aging products as the natural skin cell cycle slows down with agiing, but they are also useful for clearing acne, reducing hyperpigmentation, improving skin tone and providing a smoother and brighter skin texture. The most common AHAs are lactic acid, mandelic acid and glycolic acid. Since AHAs do not penetrate deep below the skin's surface (because they are water soluble), they are ideal for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
Beta Hydroxy Acids - BHAs (most commonly known for salicylic acid) - are another form of chemical peels that are excellent for acne-prone and blackhead-prone skin. Like AHAs, BHAs help to remove dead skin cells, but AHAs are water soluble and BHAs are oil soluble. This means that BHAs can penetrate below the skin's surface and cleanse the pores of excess sebum and dirt, reducing oiliness of the skin, while reducing inflammation and fighting bacteria on the skin's surface. Salicylic acid is best for those with acne, clogged pores or oily skin.
What's the % of BHA and AHA in this serum?
Miracle peel serum contains 2% salicylic acid (BHA) and 2% mandelic acid (AHA).
Which adaptogens/superfoods are in this serum and why?
You can find licorice root in our Miracle Peel serum. Licorice root naturally brightens the appearance of dark spots and is best for those with dark spots or acne scarring. Not only does licorice root help visibly fade existing dark spots, it also helps to prevent new ones from forming.
Does this serum help with acne scarring?
Licorice root can combat hyperpigmentation: those annoying dark marks you get from sun spots and also acne scars that don’t just fade away. It’s a natural and soothing way to treat those marks that doesn’t involve harsh chemical peels.
Licorice root helps to speed up the process by evening out skin tone and minimizing (acne) scars.
