How much sunscreen should I use?
Apply a generous & even amount of SPF 50+ sunscreen to your face after moisturising each morning & re-apply every 2 hours throughout the day. Generally use it as the last step in your skincare routine on top of moisturiser. Wearing a primer? You can layer that on top of SPF. Please note that Sun Hero is not water-resistant. We recommend using a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating. Find the expiration date on the top crimped portion of the bottle.
Will this SPF make me break out?
Sun Hero is non-comedogenic and contains skin-friendly ingredients like niacinamide, glycerin, adenosine and jojoba esters that promote healthy skin while protecting it from harsh UV rays.

How often should I reapply sunscreen?
You should reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming, sweating, or toweling off. If you’re indoors and away from windows, reapplying may not be necessary but don’t forget that the sun’s rays can still penetrate window panes.
When should I apply sunscreen?
Chemical sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before going outside to allow the sunscreen time to absorb into your skin. Mineral (physical) sunscreens are effective immediately and can be applied right before going outside.
Is a higher SPF sunscreen more effective in protecting against the sun's rays?
No, sunscreen with a higher SPF does not provide significantly more protection. An SPF of 100 only blocks 1% to 2% more of the sun's rays than an SPF of 30, which already blocks 97% of rays.
What is the difference between mineral and chemical sunscreen?
Chemical sunscreens use chemical filters to absorb UV rays before they reach your skin. Mineral or physical sunscreens block radiation by forming a barrier that reflects rays.
What is hybrid sunscreen?
Hybrid sunscreen describes an SPF that contains both mineral and chemical sunscreen actives. The chemical filters absorb UVA/UVB rays, while the mineral filters reflect UVA/UVB rays. Hybrid sunscreens provide a great option for those who want a mineral filter and do not want a white cast, and for those who want a chemical sunscreen, and have sensitive or acne-prone skin.
Is Sun Hero reef-safe?
Reef-safe' sunscreen typically refers to products that do not contain oxybenzone, a chemical known to harm coral reefs. However, 'reef-safe' is more of a marketing term and doesn't have a regulated definition.
Can makeup with SPF replace sunscreen?
While makeup with SPF can offer some protection, it is often not applied in a sufficient amount for full sun protection. It is recommended to use a base layer of broad-spectrum sunscreen before applying makeup with SPF.
Does a spray tan provide sun protection?
A spray tan or self-tanner does not provide sun protection. The only way to protect your skin from sun damage is to use sunscreen with SPF.

"Overexposure to the sun is a serious threat to your health, even if you use a sunscreen. Avoid sun exposure if possible, or at least between 11:00-16:00, when the sun's rays are strongest.
Apply at least 15 minutes before sun exposure, about 2 finger lengths of sunscreen. The level of sun protection is significantly reduced if you apply less than the recommended amount.
After sweating, bathing or towelling, the sunscreen should be reapplied. For outdoor use only.
If the product comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water. Store closed and do not expose to heat."
